The maximum duration of complimentary cover under the ASB Visa Platinum Rewards Travel Insurance Policy is 90 days (round trip) and you must hold a return ticket for your journey before you depart New Zealand.
If you are travelling for longer than 90 days you not have any cover for any part of your trip, including the first 90 days.
If your trip is longer than 90 days, then provided your trip is no longer than 180 days, you can purchase cover for the entire duration of your trip. You will be entitled to all the normal policy benefits available for trips of a shorter duration.

For cardholders 76 years or over, the premium required to purchase cover for longer trips is built into the Mature Age Cover premium and you will not see a separate premium for duration extension.
If you have already left New Zealand and you need to extend your cover due to a change in your plans, please contact us. AIG reserves the right to decline extension requests if you are already overseas and a claim has already been made or there are known circumstances likely to result in a claim being made.
