The maximum duration of complimentary cover under the ASB Visa Platinum Rewards Travel Insurance Policy is 90 days (round trip) and you must hold a return ticket for your journey.
If you are travelling for longer than 90 days you will still be covered for the first 90 days of your trip.
If your trip is longer than 90 days, then provided your trip is no longer than 180 days, you can purchase cover for the entire duration of your trip. You will be entitled to all the normal policy benefits available for trips of a shorter duration.

For cardholders 76 years or over, the premium required to purchase cover for longer trips is built into the Mature Age Cover premium and you will not see a separate premium for duration extension.
If you have already left New Zealand and you need to arrange an extension, please contact us. AIG reserves the right to decline extension requests if you are already overseas and a claim has already been made or there are known circumstances likely to result in a claim being made.
If you are travelling for longer than 90 days and you choose not to arrange a duration extension you will not be able to obtain automatic confirmation of cover using our questionnaire, or to purchase cover for pre-existing medical conditions.
